Standpipe crash was witnessed by all three defendants, according to testimony

The crash of the standpipe hitting the floor was "really loud," and within five minutes, all three defendants were standing there, looking down at it, an abatement worker testified in the Deutsche Bank manslaughter trial today."We were all busy working, and there was a loud noise," worker Adolpho Ortiz told a jury of the fateful moment in October, 2006 when, Manhattan prosecutors say, fate was sealed for two firefighters.Robert Beddia and Joseph Graffagnino would die of smoke inhalation nine months later, in August 2007, while fighting a fire in the 9/11-damaged building -- without water.
