Palmerston man jailed for drug trafficking

A mid-level drug dealer from Palmerston has been ordered to spend the next 10 months behind bars after pleading guilty to trafficking methylamphetamine.Damien Howard was this afternoon sentenced to a year and three months in custody, with a 10-month non-parole period, after being caught with more than 61 pills last year.The 22-year-old was charged with drug trafficking and unlawful possession of more than $1200 suspected of being stolen after police phone taps recorded him talking about drug deals.The concreter was arrested at his home on November 25 last year.Investigators overheard Howard speaking on the phone about selling quantities of pills, sometimes in the hundreds, on a number of occasions in the days leading up to his arrest.A search warrant was issued under the territory's drug l...
